Children

Children of God

Jesus called a child, whom he put among them, and said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Matthew 18:2-5

We are All Children of God

God loves everyone, and we are called to love everyone too. We are committed to providing spaces that are safe, loving, and allow children of all ages to grow in faith as disciples of Christ. Everything we do is under the guidance of the Sharon Safe Church Policy.

Learning Together

Acknowledging our call to ministry with children, we work:

To nurture children in faith,

To strengthen their ties with the household of God,

To share the heritage of the Christian faith and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A),

To involve and support parents in the Christian education of their children,

To be living examples of the Christian faith.

Growing Together

Understanding that children, too, are called to ministry, we work to provide opportunities for children:

To develop community with one another,

To use their talents for ministry to the congregation,

To be involved in service and mission to the global community,

To share and be joyful about what they learn and their faith.

Kingdom Kids

9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Barbara Ward Building

  • Our children’s Sunday School class, Kingdom Kids, is for children ages 5 to 5th grade.
  • Children will experience God’s word through scripture, arts and crafts, drama, prayer, games, snacks, music, puzzles, and each other. Young children are naturally receptive to Biblical teaching and love to learn about the many heroes of the Bible. Their ability to absorb and apply Biblical truths is breathtaking!
  • We will study heroes of the Old Testament until Advent and New Testament stories to usher in 2025.
  • Kingdom Kids seeks to deepen children’s faith formation and to build relationships with peers and adults in the Sharon Presbyterian family. Come and be part of the weekly celebration! Kingdom Kids meets weekly from September to May.
